How do we know that MedRise is trustworthy and authentic?

MedRise is not a re-skin of somebody else's course. Every question, explanation, mock exam and screen in the platform was written and built in-house over roughly eight months of full-time work by a small team of students who sat these exams themselves. That is why we can be specific about what is inside — the four UCAT sections, the three GAMSAT sections and the four Bond Psychometric components — and why nothing on this page claims more than we can show you.

Accuracy is checked rather than asserted:

  • Every question ships with a written explanation of why the correct option works and why each distractor fails.
  • Any student can report a question they believe is wrong from inside the session, and a confirmed report is corrected, credited and rewarded.
  • Score improvements are published only after the student uploads their official score report, and only once it has been reviewed.
  • The exam interface — calculator lag, keyboard shortcuts and answer-navigation colours — is built to match the real test-day software.

No outcome is promised. MedRise is a preparation tool — it does not guarantee a test score or an offer of admission — and that restraint is deliberate: the honest measure of a prep platform is the accuracy of what it teaches, not a headline number.

Historians have long recognised that the archive is not a neutral window onto the past. Documents are produced by institutions with their own purposes, preserved according to the priorities of those who kept them, and interpreted by scholars whose questions are shaped by the preoccupations of their own era. A nineteenth-century constitutional history and a twenty-first-century history of public health will read the same correspondence and notice quite different things. This does not mean that all interpretations are equally valid. Revisionist accounts are valuable precisely because they can be tested against the surviving evidence, and where they cannot be tested, their limitations should be acknowledged. The danger of treating every reading as equally defensible is that it collapses the distinction between interpretation and invention. Oral testimony complicates the picture further. Interviews can recover experiences that written records ignore, particularly the experiences of people who never held official positions. They also present difficulties of their own: memory is reconstructive, interviewers shape what is said, and recollections may harden into a version of events that serves the speaker's present identity. Neither written archives nor spoken testimony is inherently superior. The historian's task is to use each for what it can and cannot support.
